Region V and APACE present service reports to Gage County supervisors; Region V requests county match certification

Regional behavioral-health and developmental-disability providers presented annual reports and budget/match information to the Gage County Board on June 10.

Patrick Kreifels, regional administrator for Region V (Behavioral Health Authority, Southeast Nebraska), described the service area (16 counties), the service array and provider network, and county-match figures for fiscal-year budgeting. Kreifels said roughly 548 Gage County constituents received Region V-funded services in the cited year and that Gage County’s match was approximately $54,000 for the referenced period; he noted the region requested an additional appropriation certification from Gage County for FY27. Kreifels also highlighted grants and initiatives: HUD housing contracts supporting 64 units in the region, a sequential-intercept planning summit to address access to the Lincoln Regional Center, and a pending SAMHSA assisted outpatient treatment grant (about $750,000 annually over five years if awarded in August).

Matt Hossick, CEO of APACE, presented the organization’s annual report describing support for approximately 756 individuals statewide and around 56 clients in Gage County. Hossick described employment outcomes, the agency’s staffing and shared-living network, and internal billing and audit controls he says the agency uses to guard against fraud in Medicaid-funded services. APACE told the board it was not requesting a county funding appropriation this cycle.

After the presentations, a motion was made and passed to place both reports on file.
