Brick promotes four officers; mayor proclaims Rob Brown and Captain Jack Day

Captain Vincent Coburn, Lieutenant William Vandrrell and Sergeant Scott Mezer were also presented, sworn in and acknowledged for their service and specialized assignments.
Mayor Crates also presented a proclamation honoring Brick Township lifeguard Rob Brown and his K9 water-rescue dog Captain Jack for their Captain Jack Water Safety K9 program and the Sandy Paws Patrol. Crates cited recognition from the National Drowning Prevention Alliance (2024) and a New Jersey Recreation and Park Association award for excellence in educational programming. Judith Leline Joseph, a founding member of the New Jersey Swim Safety Alliance, praised the program’s education outreach and statewide partnerships.
