Chickasaw County environmental health reports septic, water testing and enforcement activity

Derek Lechtenberg, Environmental Health Specialist, told the Chickasaw County Board of Health on May 8 that April fieldwork included four septic site evaluations, three septic final evaluations, three time-of-transfer inspections and 36 water tests. He also reported one complaint and one illegal-dumping incident and noted that he completed four pumper truck inspections and signed one master matrix and two minor subdivision documents.
Lechtenberg said he sent second noncompliance maintenance-agreement letters and attended an Iowa State University extension meeting on well care. The board received the report as routine operational information; no formal action was taken on environmental-health items at the meeting.
