Council approved Resolution 2026-04 to authorize Beaver Borough’s membership in the Pennsylvania Local Government Investment Trust (PLGIT) and a one-time initial transfer of $500,000 from the General Fund to the borough’s PLGIT account. Councilor Todd Hindman moved the resolution, which was seconded by Councilor Phil O’Shaughnessy and passed by voice vote as recorded in the minutes.
The council also approved an amendment to the borough fee schedule raising the Pool House Civic Center rental rate for public, outdoor and wedding events to $1,900, with the revised rate to apply to events scheduled on or after Jan. 1, 2027. The pool-house rate amendment was moved by Councilor Whitney Learn-Conjeski, seconded by Councilor Bob Bickerton, and recorded as passed by voice vote.
In a separate motion moved by Councilor Tom Hamilton and seconded by Councilor Margaret McKean, the borough authorized its insurance carrier to settle a lawsuit filed by Kathleen Dunn for $88,000; the settlement will be paid by the carrier, according to the minutes. That motion also passed by voice vote.
