The Holbrook City Council on June 10 approved Resolution 26-11 to amend fees associated with planned unit development (PUD) applications, following staff presentation and a comparative review of nearby jurisdictions.
City staff and consultant Kevin presented a comparative table of discretionary land-use hearing fees from surrounding towns and counties and said the review showed fees generally ranging "from approximately $150 to $600 for comparable hearing-based applications," with higher fees common where review complexity is greater. The presentation noted a suggested practical range of approximately $250 to $500 depending on the level of review and noticing required.
Council members asked questions about typical fees in Winslow, Navajo County and other nearby jurisdictions. After discussion, the council moved and approved resolution 26-11 to adopt the amended fee schedule for PUD applications.
Staff said the change is intended to ensure fee recovery for staff time spent researching and processing discretionary development applications and to align Holbrook’s fees with neighboring practices.
