Council opened and closed the public hearing on the ordinance after receiving no public testimony. The motion to take up the ordinance on second reading was moved and seconded and the roll-call vote recorded affirmative votes from all attending council members.
The ordinance text as read at the meeting directs enforcement adjacent to playgrounds and fields maintained by the school district and the city. Council indicated the police department and code enforcement will implement the restriction.
