Council Member Russell highlighted Juneteenth as an opportunity to reinforce values of equity and inclusion.
On the waste workers recognition, Council Member Morris praised the Environmental Services team for essential services that protect public health and sustain the city’s cleanliness. Several council members thanked staff for work during events such as Thornton Fest and for ongoing services that residents may not notice until they are missing.
Both measures were moved, seconded and approved by the council during the meeting. The actions are ceremonial proclamations and do not carry direct regulatory changes.
