The Silver City Town Council voted unanimously on June 9 to approve a small-brewer offsite liquor-license application that will allow Open Space Brewing to operate at the Seabboat Collective with on-premises consumption, patio service and package sales.
Town staff swore in the applicant's witnesses before the hearing. Brent Steinberg (identified by the town manager as the presenter) and another applicant representative said Open Space Brewing has held prior special permits and is seeking a permanent authorization to host events and pop-ups in the courtyard at 214 West Yankee. The representative described prior brewing activity in Santa Clara and said the new site — adjacent to a co-working space — is intended to help retain working-age residents by adding year-round venues and event options.
Council members asked questions about ADA compliance and building review. An applicant representative said the building had been reviewed for ADA compliance in previous special-event permits and that no change was required for this request.
Councilor Slice moved to approve the small-brewer offsite-location liquor license; the motion was seconded and approved by roll call, with Councilors Prince, Snider, Nes and Slice recorded in favor. The mayor announced the motion had passed unanimously.
The council did not attach additional conditions beyond standard permitting requirements. The applicant was thanked for the presentation and encouraged to continue coordinating with departments on operations and ADA matters.
