Chief Lewis presented two personnel recognitions during the June 9 meeting. He introduced Firefighter Haley Stewart—s recent certification by the Florida Bureau of Fire Standards and Training and described her background, including prior firefighting and EMT service in Virginia and re-certification in Florida. Chief Lewis also announced the promotion of firefighter Matthew McNolte to volunteer lieutenant and described McNolte's long volunteer history and new roles as a fire instructor and EMT.
Chief Lewis presented ceremonial items, including a badge and a black helmet, to the honorees and praised their dedication and leadership. The council and public offered congratulations during the meeting; no formal council action was required for the recognitions.
