Acting Town Administrator Brough told the board the agreement cleans up contract language, adopts equitable and gender‑neutral wording, updates the setback program, and creates a new special force detail assignment allowing the Police Chief to force‑assign officers up to five times per year as needed. The contract also provides double time on Thanksgiving and Christmas to address difficult staffing on those holidays and includes a 5% increase to the wage schedule in the first year, with no step increases.
Police Chief Searle told the board the negotiations were “very amicable.” The vote to ratify was moved by Select Person Mark Leonard, seconded by Select Person Emma Green‑Beach and passed 5–0 by roll call.
The board directed human resources and town administration to finalize contract documentation and post the executed agreement to town records.
