The board voted unanimously to approve the meeting minutes of April 21, 2026. Acting Town Administrator Brough presented and the board ratified the renewal contract with Oak Bluffs Police Officers Local #268 AFL‑CIO, which includes a 5% compensation increase in the first year, clarified leave language, an updated special force detail assignment and double time on Thanksgiving and Christmas.
The board approved 25 one‑day all‑alcohol permits for the MV Sharks Baseball Foundation with a 50% fee reduction; it also approved 21 one‑day beer and wine permits and a Monday–Saturday entertainment license for the Strand Theatre’s Knock Knock Comedy series. The board approved an amplified‑sound permit for the First Ferry Celebration (fee waived) and renewed the Oak Bluffs Open Markets amplified sound permit for Sundays May–October.
Select Board members appointed Ryan Bottary as an on‑call probationary firefighter for a six‑month probationary period. Business approvals included a new business license for Seabreeze Livery at 19 Roberts Way and a Home Business by Special Permit for Manzone Plumbing at 32 Iron Hill Road. The board declared 13 abandoned kayaks and small craft surplus for public auction and renewed stationary peddler rights for Island Spirit Kayak to operate on Town property at Little Bridge.
The board approved renewal of multiple taxi licenses for the 2026 season and approved payment warrants, including pass‑through grant payments.
