Saco schools honor retirees; superintendent announces student awards, donor gift and budget vote date

In his superintendent’s report, Superintendent Ray recognized students from Saco Middle School who placed in a Rotary essay contest; noted that SMS students led a drone technology session at the statewide MLTI student conference funded by an MLTI grant (the district purchased seven drones); and thanked the Rotary Club of Saco Bay for a $3,000 donation to the Aid for Saco Kids Foundation. Ray also listed upcoming events and reminded the public that the district’s school budget vote for the public is scheduled for June 9; 8th‑grade promotion is June 16 and the last day of school is June 17.
