The Woodstock Town Board on June 9 approved a slate of routine resolutions, including personnel hires, payment of vouchers and a settlement in a personnel-related complaint, and re-certified the town's participation in New York State's Prohousing Communities program.
The board voted to accept minutes from May 5 and May 19 and authorized payment of vouchers totaling $48,649.64. It also authorized hiring Aiden North and David Luis Martinez Perez as part-time police officers effective June 22, 2026 at $30.90 an hour, subject to applicable civil-service and background requirements. The board approved hiring Kovven Van Devogart (grade one seasonal laborer) and Rodie Guinness (seasonal laborer) effective June 15 at rates listed in the personnel resolutions ($21.85 and $21.95 per hour respectively).
The board authorized a stipulation of settlement in a complaint filed July 28, 2023 by Angelo Ramos with the New York State Division of Human Rights alleging unlawful discriminatory employment practices against the town highway department; the supervisor was authorized to execute the settlement on the town's behalf.
In a separate, unanimous action the board re-certified participation in the New York State Prohousing Communities program and reaffirmed the town's pledge to streamline permitting and adopt policies intended to support diverse housing production. Board members said maintaining that status keeps the town eligible for several state grant programs and planning supports.
The board did not detail vote tallies for each resolution on the record during the meeting; each motion was seconded and indicated as carried by the chair. The supervisor or town clerk will carry out the administrative steps required by the approved resolutions.
