Council also approved $25,000 to install covered bays at the brush dump so the public‑works fleet and equipment are protected from weather damage; staff argued that protecting equipment reduces long‑term maintenance costs. "Protecting the machinery makes less maintenance in the long run," a department representative said.
Both expenditures draw from the 2025 tax‑note ordinance the council previously approved. Council members voted unanimously to release the funding and directed staff to report back on project expenditures during the year.
