The Cody Planning, Zoning & Adjustment Board convened at noon Jan. 15 and moved promptly through organizational items, welcoming a newly appointed member and choosing leadership for 2026.
Erin Welty introduced herself to the board, saying, "My name is Erin Welty. I work for the Greater Yellowstone Coalition here in Cody. I've lived here two different times, been back since 2021, have deep ties to Wyoming and the Bighorn Basin, and I have experience in planning and zoning on the other side of the table in the past." Welty was welcomed as a new board member beginning a three‑year term.
A member nominated Dan Shine to serve as chairman for the coming year; the nominee accepted the position at the meeting. The board also nominated Dan Holler to serve as vice chair; the chair said the board would call Dan Holler vice chair pending his acceptance. The chair recognized outgoing board member Joe Burrell and thanked him for his service.
During board matters staff described templates and setting up tablets to facilitate motions and recordkeeping; the board asked questions but had no objections. The meeting concluded after adopting consent items and approving planning matters for the day.
