At their June 10 meeting the Morgan Township Trustees accepted the resignation of assistant fiscal officer Chrissy Hill, approved contracting with her to record meeting minutes at $35 per hour, and approved a staffing and benefits motion for the assistant fiscal officer position.
Trustees voted to accept Hill’s resignation (effective June 6, 2026) and approved a separate contract to pay Hill $35 an hour to record township meeting minutes. The motion to accept the resignation and the minutes contract passed by voice vote.
The board then discussed increasing part-time assistant fiscal officer Amy Deetler’s scheduled hours. Trustees debated whether raising the weekly maximum to 35 hours would require offering township health insurance and whether that approach best balanced compensation versus benefits. After discussion the trustees passed a resolution to increase Deetler’s hours to a cap of 35 per week and to grant vacation, sick and holiday pay based on years of service, with eligibility tied to working at least 1,500 hours per year; language will be added to the township policy handbook to reflect the change.
Trustees also approved contracting with Delta Dental for coverage starting Aug. 1, 2026; the board member proposing the switch said Delta Dental represented a cost savings and improved policy terms.
The motions were procedural and forward-looking: the resignation and minute‑taking contract take effect immediately; the hours/benefits change requires a handbook update to cement the 1,500‑hour eligibility rule, and staff were assigned to draft the handbook language to return to the board.
