The West Whiteland Township Board approved two updates to the Police Department Policy and Procedure Manual following a staff recommendation.
Captain Matthew Deceder said both proposed policies are updates from PLEAC. The Vehicle Operation and Call Response policy was revised to require training every three years. The new Artificial Intelligence policy prohibits officers from using AI platforms to prepare or produce reports when doing so would require inputting secure or sensitive information into third-party AI services that could make that data public.
The Board voted to adopt the policies as presented; no public comment was recorded on this item.
