Platte County commissioners approved a series of personnel and contract actions during their meeting.
The board unanimously approved Resolution 2025‑14 to endorse the nomination of Wendy Curtis Palin to serve as a part‑time magistrate for the Circuit Court of the Eighth Judicial District, following a request forwarded from the district judges. The county read the resolution aloud and approved it by voice vote.
Commissioners then approved a service agreement with grant writer and administrative consultant Candace Wright, who will provide grant‑writing services and administrative support for major projects. Commissioners noted Wright agreed to a reduced travel rate in the contract. "She's effective straight away and she's not the kind ... just scrolling for grants," one commissioner said during discussion of the contract.
Separately, the board interviewed and then appointed Levi Clark and George Anne Brown to the Hospital Foundation Board for staggered terms ending June 30, 2026 and June 30, 2027, respectively. Both candidates described connections to local banks and prior nonprofit or board experience during brief interview remarks; commissioners thanked them for volunteering.
All items were approved by voice vote; staff will finalize the contracts and appointment paperwork for county records.
