Platte County officials told commissioners they plan to pursue a five‑year agreement with Motorola for the countywide Spillman computer‑aided dispatch (CAD) system that would lower annual maintenance costs and include optional e‑citation capability for local agencies.

Sheriff David Russell said a five‑year contract would reduce year‑to‑year costs and allow the county to add modules the agencies have requested but not yet used. "The five‑year would be cheaper year by year," the sheriff said in the briefing, noting a consolidated purchase across the county reduces per‑agency fees. County staff presented two five‑year options: a base package for the CAD suite and an expanded option that includes an e‑citation module and vehicle hardware (mobile printers and vehicle equipment).
