Authority endorses updated bylaws; staff to send them to City Council

The GoRaleigh Authority voted unanimously on June 11 to endorse updated bylaws that staff revised to meet the city’s formatting and procedural requirements. The endorsement is a recommendation out of committee; final approval comes from City Council after staff submission.
"In the strikeout, David, ... I think you meant designate the vice chair," board member Cece Grant said while pointing out a typographical error on page 5 of the draft bylaws. Staff confirmed the bylaws will be submitted to the Boards & Commissions division and then placed on a City Council agenda for final review and vote.
The committee also identified additional bylaws to review next (lost and found, service animals, bus advertising, smoking and bicycle policy). The board’s endorsement authorizes staff to forward the revised bylaws to city administration so they may be scheduled for council consideration.
Next steps: Staff will submit the endorsed bylaws to the Boards & Commissions division for placement on a City Council agenda; the bylaws are not effective until council action is complete.
