The Walkway Special Improvement District on May 12 confirmed several near-term community events and outreach plans.
The Outback Steakhouse fundraising event was rescheduled to May 13, 2026, after rain forced postponement of the original May 6 date; the minutes record about eighty expected participants. For the 10K Race the board set start times at 8:30 a.m. for the race and 9:30 a.m. for the run/walk, and confirmed that the start and finish will remain inside Veteran’s Field. Ron Klempner raised the possibility of hiring a social-media specialist to attract participants from New York; Tiffany Johannsen volunteered to run the social-media outreach program, as she had for the previous year’s race.
The Walkway Clean-Up will take place on June 6 from 10 a.m. to noon, with the borough DPW available to collect debris. Greg Franz is advertising the SID-sponsored event, and Levie Johnson, Tiffany Johannsen and Ron Klempner agreed to participate.
All items were recorded as planning/operational actions; no formal votes were reported for these event logistics in the minutes.
