At the opening of the Sept. 23 meeting the Planning Board handled routine scheduling and several formal hearing requests.
The chair opened the public hearing calendar for applications including a Definitive Plan (DEF2) for 125 Newand Street (owner/applicant: Nuland 125 Nominee Trust). The chair "would entertain a motion to continue DEF2 for 125 Newand Street to October 21st," and a motion to continue was moved and seconded. The transcript records a motion, a second and an acknowledgment; one board member said, "I opposed." The record does not capture a roll-call tally by name.
For Special Permit 26 and Site Plan Review 17 at 77 West Main Street, the applicant requested more time to work with a peer traffic reviewer; a school-department representative attended to explain morning/afternoon traffic flow. The board voted to continue that hearing to Oct. 7 (motion and second recorded; one member expressed opposition).
Special Permit 16 for 1 Dean Street (owner: JSC Holdings; applicant: Morse Engineering) was withdrawn "without prejudice," meaning the applicant may refile in the future; the board discussed what that status means and voted to accept the withdrawal.
The board also discussed meeting scheduling through the end of the year (potential Nov. 18 meeting and Dec. 2 and 16 meetings) and whether to cancel or move the Oct. 21 meeting because it falls immediately after town meeting; members considered Oct. 28 as an alternative date and agreed to resolve scheduling in follow-up correspondence.
Next steps: the board confirmed an Oct. 7 planning-board meeting and will finalize outstanding agenda items in advance of the joint session with the select board and finance committee.
