At the same meeting where commissioners approved a conditional use for a paleteria, Planning Department staff gave a rapid set of project updates across the city’s development portfolio.
Staff said a mural at Slingshot bar was unveiled in mid-May and described progress at a west-side dry-cleaner (CD One Price Cleaners) that is near occupancy. Officials reported Sona Lofts phase two will soon break ground at two locations, while Black Rose and Makers Row are under construction. Staff also listed ongoing construction at Axis and Hidden Lofts and said The Apiary is leasing units on 70th and Washington. Rudis Fresh Indian Fare was noted as a proposed tenant for an existing coffee-shop space that is undergoing occupancy review. A project referred to as La Finca (a proposed cafe) remains under consideration while property owners work through financing and a grant application, staff said.
Commissioners asked timing and status questions; staff confirmed CD One Price Cleaners is close to occupancy and mentioned a planned ribbon-cutting. The department also flagged an upcoming Liberty Heights Beer Garden celebration operated by Third Space Brewing.
After the updates, a commissioner moved to adjourn; the motion carried and the commission set its next meeting for July 2024.
