Council OKs Fire Police assistance for school’s Sound Spectacular; senior center presents growth booklet

At its Sept. 8 meeting Red Lion Borough Council approved a request from the Red Lion School District to authorize Fire Police traffic control for the district’s Sound Spectacular at Horn Field, scheduled for Oct. 4, 2025.
Amanda Anderson of the Red Lion School District told council that attendance is expected to be approximately 2,000 people and asked for Fire Police to assist with traffic control from Pine Street to Country Club Road. Council member Amy Lau moved to authorize the Fire Police to help if they are available; Cindy Barley seconded the motion and it carried unanimously.
Earlier in the public comment portion of the meeting, Amanda Pina of Golden Connections Senior Center presented a booklet outlining the senior center’s growth, impact and mission and thanked the borough for its continued support.
Council members did not allocate new funding at the meeting for event security; the authorization allows the Fire Police to assist if they are available and within their existing volunteer/service arrangements. Council did not discuss additional traffic-control staffing or professional traffic management firms.
Next steps: the Fire Police and the school district will coordinate logistics; council will not vote further unless additional resource commitments are requested.
