Magistrate gives five days to clear junk and derelict vehicles at 209 El Reposo Place or face daily fines

Investigator Joe Tripp presented photos and testimony showing derelict vehicles, a disabled golf cart, a trailer and accumulations of junk and personal property at 209 El Reposo Place in unincorporated Bay County. Tripp said the property had been the subject of prior code actions and that inspections on June 8 showed many items remaining.
"From the street view, the pickup truck has no tag...the green Volkswagen at the back has some damage...there's also a trailer which has been there for a while and some trash and junk and on screen personal property," Tripp said, introducing photographs into evidence. He reported no communication from the respondent as of the inspection.
Magistrate Bill Lewis found the parcel to be a repeat violator under Bay County Code §17-2 and ordered the respondent to bring the property into compliance within five days by removing junk, properly registering or removing derelict vehicles/vessels and screening or removing unscreened personal property. The magistrate established an initial fine of $300 and a $75 daily fine to begin after the fifth day and continue up to 25 days or until compliance, and noted fines and abatement costs may become liens on property if recorded.
