The Montgomery Township Committee approved a series of routine but budget‑relevant resolutions at its June meeting, moving forward on procurement, grants and facility upgrades.
The committee authorized the purchase of two 2023 Dodge Durango pursuit all‑wheel drive vehicles for the police department (one at $48,838.76 and one at $40,566.05), awarded a one‑year extension for janitorial services through June 22, 2025 at a contract amount of $158,800, and approved a second one‑year extension for wastewater treatment chemicals under previously awarded bid terms with CPI adjustments.
Township staff also told the committee it will award a contract to Bridal Electric for the purchase and installation of two ChargePoint EV charging stations at the municipal center. Staff said the contract award is roughly $75,000–$77,000 but will be reduced by about $22,000 in federal reimbursement and an approximately $15,000 PSE&G rebate, bringing the township’s net cost down. “The final cost of the township for these charging stations will actually be much less than the contract award,” the administrator said during the meeting.
The committee voted to allow due diligence and a purchase‑agreement process for a parcel (Block 17008 Lot 1) previously reviewed by the open space committee, and authorized scope modifications and a phase‑2 grant application with the New Jersey Department of Transportation to phase the Township Line road improvement project so work can proceed over two years.
Most measures passed by unanimous roll call. The outdoor assembly permit and associated approval for a proposed car show at Princeton Airport drew one recorded no vote during the roll call; staff said the event application had satisfied police, fire marshal and health department conditions.
