Brielle council approves $1.55 million bill list, refunds and multiple liquor‑license renewals with conditions

The motion to accept the minutes from May 11 had been made by Councilman Gianforte and seconded by Councilman Shaak earlier in the meeting.
Among consent items the council authorized a $2,000 refund related to a sewer lateral that was located after a charge had been posted. The borough also authorized tax‑lien redemption payments related to Block 74.01 Lot 5 (403 Linden Lane, McAuley, Mary): a redemption of $58,264.09 with an accompanying premium of $9,600.00 to be paid to American Tax Lien Fund from the tax, title, lien account (Resolution 26‑92‑A).
Several liquor‑license renewals were approved for the 2026–2027 license year. The Ship Wreck Grill (license #1308‑33‑005‑005) was renewed subject to conditions requiring that all doors and windows be kept closed whenever live music is played and that Planning Board conditions limiting deck service be incorporated into the municipal addendum. The Pig and the Parrot Sand Bar (license #1308‑33‑002‑013) was renewed with multiple conditions: the Planning Board’s addendum remains in force, the west deck must be abandoned for service, no alcoholic beverages may leave the premises in open containers, and doors and windows must be kept closed after 7:00 p.m. whenever amplified or live music is played.
Hoffman’s Restaurant received a seasonal license renewal (subject to a valet‑parking requirement when the adjacent marina parking lot is used), and the Manasquan River Golf Club and Brielle Fire Company license renewals were approved with no objections recorded. The minutes note that municipal and state fees required for renewals were received where applicable.
The municipal clerk certified the resolutions as true copies of actions taken at the May 26 meeting. The council adjourned at 7:40 p.m.; the minutes were approved June 8, 2026.
