Co-Chair John Hauck called the Madison County Airport Board to order on Jan. 12, 2026. The board voted to authorize an inspection of hangar D-8 and to approve a new ground lease for Sharp Tail Builders LLC at Ruby Valley Field Airport.
The board discussed D-8 hangar compliance after County Attorney Colton Lauer advised sending a follow-up letter notifying the hangar owner of an inspection. Beau Bradley, a board member, moved to approve sending the inspection letter; the motion was seconded by Jim Frey and carried with all voting "aye." Colton Lauer will assist the board in drafting the letter.
The board then reviewed a proposed ground lease for E-14. Scott Payne moved to approve the new ground lease for Sharp Tail Builders LLC; the motion was seconded by Brett Owens and carried with all voting "aye." The board recorded the approvals without further conditions.
The actions come as part of routine airport property oversight at Ruby Valley Field, where the board noted general ground operations were proceeding smoothly. The board did not set additional deadlines beyond the inspection correspondence; further actions will be scheduled as needed.
