The Frankfort Independent Schools board on June 8 announced that its evaluation of Superintendent Dr. Sherry Sadderly resulted in a unanimous "exemplary" rating, the board said in a prepared statement read in open session.
"The FIS board of education is pleased and proud to announce that Dr. Sherry Sadderly... has received a unanimous evaluation rating of exemplary," the board's prepared statement said. The statement cited a "healthy financial position" that enabled a 2% staff raise and the opportunity to address infrastructure improvements, and it highlighted growth in dual-credit participation with nearly 30% of graduates earning associate degrees at no cost to families.
Board members also said they will change the timing of the superintendent evaluation process. Previously conducted in January, evaluations will occur as of June 30 in future years.
In subsequent superintendent comments, Dr. Sadderly noted that HVAC work was on site and recapped recent events including staff appreciation and graduation outcomes: "Our 96 seniors earned approximately 1,600 college credits this year... and earned over $3.5 million in scholarships," she said. Dr. Sadderly also reminded the community that the summer feeding program and reading supports will begin the next day.
The board’s unanimous rating concludes this year’s formal evaluation; details of the evaluation instrument and scoring were not published in the public transcript beyond the board’s prepared statement.
