The Chagrin Falls Shade Tree Commission recommended scheduling a hazardous tree inspection for this spring and reported that 50 trees have been ordered for spring planting, the commission said. Bakke and Rounds, members of the Chagrin Falls Shade Tree Commission, were listed as present.
The report said a pre-planting meeting with vendor Hemlock has been held and that the trees are expected to be shipped to the village during the week of April 12 or April 19. Planting dates will be set once the shipments arrive. The commission also said it will inspect plantings as part of the rollout.
Commission members created a task calendar for 2026 that lists tasks and target dates; the calendar designates tree planting as the first task. To organize work and data collection, the commission divided the village into 11 sectors. The commission plans to assign and complete tasks by sector, use the sectors when gathering tree data, set annual goals (for example, a number of sectors to cover each year), and investigate adding sector-level tree data to the Shade Tree Commission website.
The commission scheduled its next meeting for 8:30 a.m. Monday, May 18, 2026. The meeting opened at 8:30 a.m. and adjourned at 10:10 a.m.
