Parish president: administration addressed animal shelter concerns; no public comment was needed

Chairman Chris Tauzin reported that several council members visited the Animal Control facility to review concerns. Parish President Pete Delcambre told the council the administration has taken steps to address the issues raised, and the meeting record notes that Ms. Andrea Mire and Dr. Jackie Simon (DVM) did not need to address the Council on the matter. Council Member Carla JeanBatiste specifically thanked Dr. Megan Simon for the cat-housing building and thanked Animal Control employees for attending the meeting.
No formal action was taken on the shelter at the Dec. 2 meeting; the administration is responsible for continuing implementation of the corrective steps mentioned in the update.
