Homer Glen to solicit Paylocity time-and-attendance costs amid debate over ERP rollout

The Homer Glen Village Board authorized staff to solicit a cost estimate from Paylocity for time-and-attendance tracking, a step several trustees said was needed to speed implementation while the village's larger ERP (BSNA) rollout remains months away.
Trustee Mason moved to solicit the estimate and the motion passed after discussion of implementation timing and budgets. The village attorney told the board that although the budget included funds for the ERP, the board must later approve any specific vendor contracts: “there has to be an approval by this board on what company is going to be providing those services that you've already budgeted for.”
Staff said the approved budget includes $200,000 for the new ERP and that BSNA projects an implementation timeline in the first or second quarter of 2027. Several trustees said they want a quicker operational time-and-attendance solution to reduce manual payroll processing; one trustee argued that if Paylocity could get the village started immediately, the village should favor an earlier-ready solution.
Trustees also noted public works already operates a timeclock system that would reduce license counts and overall costs. Staff and trustees agreed further cost details and a written contract would be presented to the board for approval before any vendor is engaged.
The board voted to solicit the Paylocity estimate so staff can return with pricing and a recommendation.
