The ISD 191 Board of Education voted unanimously June 11 to call its 2026 general election and to establish candidate filing dates for school board seats.
Superintendent Dr. Latana Daniels recommended the board adopt a resolution calling the district's general election to elect four school board members to four-year terms, to be held Nov. 3, 2026. Director Hume moved the resolution and Director Chester seconded. Board clerk Sarah conducted the roll-call vote; Directors Mickelson, Anderson, Hume, Chair Alt, Saxi and Chester each responded "I," and the resolution was declared adopted.
Dr. Daniels then recommended a second resolution establishing the filing period for affidavits of candidacy. The board approved a filing window opening July 14, 2026, and closing July 28, 2026; affidavits and the $2 filing fee must be submitted to the school district office by 5:00 p.m. on July 28. Director Mickelson moved the resolution and Director Saxi seconded; a roll call again recorded six "I" votes and the resolution was declared duly passed.
Board members discussed no changes to the dates during the meeting. The board will publish the formal resolutions and instructions to prospective candidates as required by district procedure.
