Duchesne County Library board: 2025 report shows higher circulation and revenues covering operations

The Duchesne County Library Board reviewed highlights from its 2025 annual report at a March 18 meeting at the Roosevelt Library.

The report shows 95,000 physical checkouts and 64,000 digital checkouts in 2025, about 6,000 active users systemwide and 94,400 total visits. Board members noted strong demand for conference rooms, Wi‑Fi and public computers, and that library revenues covered operational costs for the first time in several years.

The annual report also summarized outreach and program activity, including the launch of Blackstone Unlimited with 1,200 Tabiona outreach checkouts, continued outreach to Fruitland, Altamont and the county jail, successful summer reading programs and a new basic technology course. The library received $19,500 in grants during 2025 and was named a Quality Library Award recipient by the Utah State Library.

Board members discussed facilities and operations: a roof leak at the Roosevelt Branch was reported as "hopefully resolved," and a Wi‑Fi upgrade at the Duchesne Branch was completed. The board recorded that the statistics and budget review showed the new Blackstone Unlimited offering growing for a third month.

Procedural business during the meeting included approval of the February 2026 minutes. Committee member Deb Evans moved to approve the minutes as written; Committee member Jesse Walker seconded, and the motion passed unanimously.

The board set its next meeting for Tuesday, April 21, 2026, at 4:30 p.m. at the Duchesne Library. The meeting adjourned at 5:07 p.m.
