Parkland boys volleyball honored after state runner‑up season

The Parkland School District board recognized its boys volleyball team at the July 16 meeting after a season that ended as PIAA Class 3A state runner‑up.
"This group of young men has put together a two‑year span of excellence," said Nathan Davidson, the high school principal, noting the team repeated as East Penn and district champions, traveled extensively and posted a 21–4 record. Davidson praised players’ academic performance and the program’s culture.
Coach Scott Trumbauer told the board the team also received academic honors: the squad was named to the American Volleyball Coaches Association All‑Academic team and the coach said several players’ GPAs were cited as being in the 4.5–4.6 range in the remarks he delivered.
Board members and attendees congratulated the players and coaches; the team was called forward for individual recognition and photos. Several board members noted pride in both on‑court success and students’ classroom achievement.
