The York City Historical Architectural Review Board voted to deny an application proposing vinyl replacement windows for the front-facing facades of 158 South Persing after the applicant did not appear at the June 11 meeting.
Board members noted existing adjacent windows appear to be intact and recommended repair rather than replacement. A committee member moved to deny the application, stating vinyl windows on front-facing facades are inappropriate, and the motion carried. The board discussed options for notifying the absent applicant and confirmed that the city’s permit office and staff would communicate the denial and guidance.
The board advised that any future reapplication must include manufacturer cut sheets, materials specifications and a detailed window configuration so the consultant and staff can evaluate the proposal. Board members said that had the applicant responded with condition information the outcome might have been different, but in the absence of information they denied the submission as presented.
