HARB approves composite replacement windows at 333 East Locust Street

The York City Historical Architectural Review Board approved a window-replacement application for 333 East Locust Street on June 11 after reviewing material samples and installation plans.
Deon Root, representing Renewal by Anderson, told the board, “All we're doing is we're replacing the three front windows with our material fibre,” and presented a sample described as 40% recycled oak and 60% thermal polymer, intended to replicate the appearance of original oak frames while providing durability. He stated existing jambs and much of the original woodwork would be retained and rotten sill sections would be repaired with new oak where needed.
A committee member noted that the board had previously approved this window type and clarified that the material is a composite, not vinyl. The applicant said installers are certified and samples were provided. A motion to approve the application as submitted passed on a voice vote.
Staff will process the follow-up documentation and applicants were reminded to submit any final drawings or specifications required for building permits.
