County board approves nurse starting pay, recognizes scholarship recipient and holds other operational discussions

On a motion by Supervisor Keith Jones, seconded by Supervisor Susan Miller, the board approved starting pay for a newly hired nurse at Step 12, $43.99 per hour, with an anticipated start date of June 16. That motion carried unanimously.
During the meeting the board recognized Alli Brensel as an ISAC scholarship recipient and approved the consent agenda, which included hiring Christopher Andersen as a detention officer and several other personnel items recorded under "Received/Filed." The minutes list employment actions for Georgia Paulson (part-time youth corrections worker), Theodore Oswald (park ranger intern) and payroll-status changes for Kyle Arnold and Shawn Bluml.
Under other business the board discussed an amortization schedule for a preliminary seal-cost petition on 195th Street; the county engineer will send residents two cost options for the petition, and no action was taken at the meeting. Board members also discussed the possible dissolution of a union and moving union employees to a step-and-grade structure aligned with non-union employees; that topic was discussion only and no directive or vote was recorded.
