At its monthly meeting the Indian Creek School Board approved a series of routine but substantive items across hiring, handbooks, contracts and student activities. Nearly every motion presented in new business and the personnel packet passed unanimously with a 5-0 vote.
Key actions included approval of late additions to the personnel/hiring packet (special education hires and coaching assignments), adoption of the 2026-2027 athletic, staff and student handbooks, approval of curriculum materials (formerly textbook rental), acceptance of multiple MOUs (including with Franklin Community School Corporation and Fowler Family Resources for Head Start), authorization of student trips (including a high-school basketball overnight trip to Hammond, Ind., June 22-24, and a middle-school field trip to Washington, D.C. in 2027), and an increase in Indian Creek Middle School's athletic fee from $20 to $25.
The board also approved an agreement with Better Bids LLC related to hiring a speech-language pathologist, a 2027 budget calendar, and the use of technology department student interns. The personnel packet (resignations, employment, and coaches) was approved in full.
