Boyle County Fiscal Court approves routine transfers, bills and several board appointments

The Boyle County Fiscal Court voted on June 9 to approve a series of routine budget actions and appointments, moving money to meet operational needs and confirming several volunteer board members.
Judge Truly L. Elbottom opened the meeting by presenting intra‑fund transfers, including $75,000 to the road department, $100,000 from the general fund to the jail and $200,000 from the general fund to EMS. A magistrate moved and the court approved the cash transfers by voice vote.
County staff then asked the court to add several invoices to the day’s bill packet. Additional items included Parson’s Construction for the new bike-park work ($60,988), Damble Bull County Development Corporation support for America’s 250th events ($56,583), a Republic Services invoice (~$51,214), ENH bridge and grading ($37,921), and two smaller items related to an air‑burner meeting (Air Burners Inc., $3,290; grapple rental $5,713.99), for an additional bills subtotal of $215,710.25. With the packet items included, the grand total presented was about $3.178 million. Magistrate Master Cullen noted capital projects in Millennium Park and election expenses included in the packet. The court approved the bills by voice vote.
The court also approved several appointments. Daryl Johnson was reappointed to the Parksville Water District Board. Lindsay Francois and Rita Bloom were appointed to the county library board, and the court approved the recommended appointment of Anthony Young to the county fire board. All appointments were approved by voice vote.
The meeting included a series of ceremonial proclamations (Flag Day, Juneteenth and Solid Waste & Recycling Workers Week) and routine committee reports that the court discussed before moving on to other agenda items.
The court’s next meeting is scheduled for June 23; Judge Pro Tem Tim will preside in the judge’s absence.
