Oklahoma County approves multiple contracts, including $1.61 million for Behavioral Care Center furnishings

The Oklahoma County Board of Commissioners approved a set of routine contract awards and amendments, including a $1,610,090 amendment with Flint Co. to supply furniture and equipment for the county’s Behavioral Care Center.

Staff told commissioners the Flint Co. amendment covers the bulk of furniture and equipment — “everything from desk chairs to patient beds” — and presented it as a no-change contract amendment recommended for approval; commissioners moved and approved the item.

Separately, procurement staff opened bids and recommended awards on multiple service contracts. For lawn maintenance (CW27031-1), staff recommended awarding lowest-per-line-item bids to Madison Turf Farms (Grop Seed) and Jetream Hydro Seed after evaluating tabulations and end-user feedback; the board approved the recommendation.

For extermination services (CW27017), staff reported eight proposals and recommended awarding to the lowest, best vendors by location: Turax Pest Control and Irwin’s Affordable Pest Control for most sites, RIP Pest and Weed Control for the Oklahoma County Juvenile Justice Center, and Duncan’s Pest Control for the treasurer’s maintenance building. Commissioners approved the location-specific awards citing vendor performance and experience as the basis for exceptions.

Staff also reported that six responses were received for the court clerk’s autonomous floor scrubber RFP (P26160-06) and recommended rejecting all bids after evaluation and input from the court clerk’s office; commissioners approved the recommendation to reject those proposals.

Commissioners moved and approved several other routine consent items and grouped contract approvals across the agenda in a single roll of motions and verbal assent. No roll-call vote tallies were recorded in the transcript; motions were approved by voice vote.
