Glenrock Main Street reports fundraising, visitor-center grant bid and Veterans Park timeline

Candy Bendetta, representing Glenrock Main Street and the Converse County Tourism Board, told the council on Nov. 24 that Main Street's recent casino night grossed about $27,000, with expenses around $12,000 for a net of roughly $15,000 available for local projects.
Bendetta said monuments for the veterans park are under construction and the group has raised approximately $140,000 to date; she said about $600,000 remains owed to the monument vendor, with installment payments due in January, March, May and July and a target grand opening around Labor Day 2026 if site work and funding align. Bendetta said the group will continue grant-seeking in January and other fundraising efforts in the coming months.
Bendetta also said Main Street and Elevate Glenrock applied for a $20,000 tourism-grant to open a visitor center that would share space with Elevate's office and include local merchandise; the tourism board expected to decide on the grant application the following day.
She described media and promotional work — including a short video submitted to Parade Magazine’s contest to boost visitation — and invited the council to participate in Winterfest and the Christmas parade.
