Township Manager Melody Ernst presented edits to the Recreation Board's proposed rules, particularly clarifications to rule No. 3 on verbal or physical disrespect toward directors or staff. "After reviewing Melody's revisions I agree," said Vice Chair Raymond Abert before making a motion to approve the revised rules; Supervisor Michael Bryant seconded and the motion carried 3-0.
The Board assigned weekday field-lining to the Public Works crew and made coaches responsible for weekend lining; that motion was made by Supervisor Michael Bryant and seconded by Vice Chair Raymond Abert (3-0). The Board approved hiring Owen Miller as a summer recreation counselor and approved Jake Booth as an alternate counselor on an as-needed basis (both motions carried 3-0). The Board declined a Recreation Board recommendation to place a dog waste station at Municipal Park, noting dogs are not permitted at that park; Public Works Director Michael Strawn agreed to investigate new signage indicating the restriction. Discussion about changing access codes at the refreshment stand was tabled until the conclusion of the spring sports season.
These actions were recorded with unanimous affirmative votes; the Recreation Board will proceed with program planning and staffing under the Board's directions.
