The Coachella Valley Unified board announced several closed‑session outcomes when it returned to open session at 7:03 p.m. on June 11.
Clerk Harry Ardondo read the formal actions. The board approved stipulated expulsion recommendations and reinstatement decisions for several case numbers (25‑2616; 24‑25017; 24‑25‑08; and 24‑25‑09 — as announced in session). The transcript lists the case numbers and records that motions carried with Trustee Vargas absent for those votes.
The board also approved multiple personnel appointments effective June 11, 2026. Clerk Ardondo read the motions and reported vote tallies in open session:
• Israel Oliveros — appointed chief technology officer at Coachella Valley Unified, effective June 11, 2026. The motion was reported as made by Trustee Gonzalez and seconded by Trustee Calamanis; trustees present were recorded by voice in the clerk’s report (one trustee absent).
• Incarnation Bera — appointed principal at Oasis Elementary School, effective June 11, 2026; the clerk read a recorded vote in which one board member was listed as a ‘nay’ in the record and the motion carried with a majority.
• Michael T. Williams — appointed director of transportation, effective June 11, 2026; the clerk recorded a 4–2 vote with names read aloud (two trustees voted no and one trustee absent).
The clerk’s oral report provided the official record of motions and counts. The board did not take additional public action on these items at open session beyond announcing the votes.
What happens next: The appointees’ start dates and personnel paperwork will be processed by Human Resources; the district posted the appointments in the open session announcement and will include contract and salary details in administrative records.
