Williston commission approves first reading of ordinance to align disabled-veteran parking language with state code

The Williston Board of City Commissioners approved the first reading of Ordinance 1170 on Aug. 12, a change to the city's disabled veteran parking regulations to align local language with the North Dakota Century Code.
City Attorney Taylor Olson told the commission the city had received a request to amend local language and recommended the change to match state statute. "The City of Williston received a request to consider an amendment to the rules regarding Disabled Veteran Parking," Olson said; the attorney also noted there were "a couple grammatical things" to fix before the next reading.
Commissioner James Bervig moved to approve the first reading; Commissioner Lucas Gjovig seconded. The roll-call vote recorded AYE from Bervig, Gjovig, Bekkedahl, Siemieniewski and Klug; the motion carried 5-0.
