The Williston Board of City Commissioners unanimously approved awarding the 2025 Gene Emery Building roof improvements to Thiel Bros. Roofing of Sidney, Montana, for $406,618.00 during its Aug. 12 meeting.
Public Works Director Kenny Bergstrom reported the city received a single bid for the project and recommended the award; he told the commission the work carries an estimated 40-year life span for the roof. "We received a total of one bid, with a 40-year life span on the roof. We are recommending an award of the 2025 Gene Emery Roof Improvements to Thiel Bros Roofing of Sidney, MT in the amount of $406,618.00," Bergstrom said.
Commissioner Lucas Gjovig moved to approve the bid award; Commissioner Brad Bekkedahl seconded. The roll-call vote was AYE from Bervig, Gjovig, Bekkedahl, Siemieniewski and Klug; the motion carried 5-0.
The minutes record the award amount and the winning bidder; bidders other than the apparent single bidder are not listed in the minutes. The item was recorded as a standard procurement award in the meeting minutes.
