Price City council approves prosecution contract term, garbage rates, stormwater design amendment and consent-agenda grants

Price — At its June 10 meeting, the Price City Council approved a series of contracts, capital-project amendments and consent-agenda items.
City staff explained that the recurring criminal-prosecution-services contract had been bid with no responses; the county approved a five-year term and staff asked the council to approve the city’s agreement with a matching five-year term rather than a 10-year term shown in the packet. The council approved the resolution with the five-year term.
Staff also reported that a recent bid for residential garbage service produced lower per-can costs; staff noted last year’s per-can figure around $15.49 and said the new contract would reduce costs to about $10.11 (staff characterized the latter as the current per-month cost passed to customers). The council adopted the garbage-rate resolution; staff said the new rates would take effect July 1 for the next fiscal year.
On capital work, council approved an amendment to the engineering services agreement with Johansen & Tuttle Engineering to add a 90% completion stormwater design for the Mead’s Wash detention basin and Covecrest Street drainage for $48,528 to be funded from the stormwater fund.
On the consent agenda the council adopted items a–h, including the Liberty Gala entertainment contract presented by Megan Marshall (coordinator), who said a $1,500 America250 grant will subsidize entertainment and local sponsors will cover a $300 gap; the council also accepted a $10,625 grant to digitize the city’s real-property manual and begin mapping city-owned parcels. All items were approved by voice vote.
