Ada council approves $206,451.98 in claims registers; HydroCorp contract sent back for edits

The Village of Ada Council approved four claims registers at its Jan. 6 meeting, totaling $206,451.98, and heard a series of administrative reports and a public comment request.
Council approved Claims Register 2026-1A for $39,599.06 (motion by Sheila Coressel, second by Sean Beck), 2026-1B for $64,036.14 (motion by Sean Beck, second by Linda Mason), 2026-1C for $62,498.61 (motion by Linda Mason, second by Sean Beck) and 2026-1D for $40,318.17 (motion by Xander Wells, second by Lucas Rowe). Each motion passed on a roll-call vote recorded as six ayes: Beck, Campbell, Coressel, Mason, Rowe and Wells.
Fiscal Officer Patty Navin told council December 2025 bank reconciliations have been provided and that year-end filings — fourth-quarter federal income tax and state unemployment reports — have been completed. She said staff are working on the Hinkle year-end report and preparing W‑2s and 1099s.
Police Chief Alec Cooper reported 117 calls for service since the last meeting, nine incident and offense reports and two vehicle-accident reports; he noted Officer Everhard was recognized for apprehending a burglary suspect.
Resident Kevin Wagner used the public-comment period to request that the U.S. flag be taken down at sundown if there is no spotlight and asked that the 2025 water-consumption report and related revenue documents be made available for independent verification. "If there is no spotlight, then it should be taken down at sundown each evening," Wagner said.
Village Administrator Amanda Sears presented a draft agreement with HydroCorp for backflow-prevention services. Council and staff discussed the agreement's indemnification language, the contract's stated maximum of 94 taps and the need to correct dates in the draft; Ms. Sears said she will return to council at the next meeting with an updated agreement reflecting those clarifications.
No ordinances or resolutions were introduced or adopted at the meeting.
