Lower Pottsgrove approves contracts, resolutions and a grant application; board votes 4-0

The Lower Pottsgrove Township Board of Commissioners on Sept. 19 unanimously approved a set of routine contracts and resolutions and authorized staff to pursue a state grant to remove two deteriorating barns.
The board voted 4-0 to award a Traffic Signal Maintenance Contract to Telco of Reading for $4,708 (motion by Commissioner Michael McGroarty; second by Commissioner William Keohane). It also approved Resolution 1353-24 authorizing designated employees to interact with Berkheimer on local taxes, Resolution 1354-24 authorizing the auction via Municibid of a 2019 Ford Explorer (Mr. Wagner confirmed a minimum price of $3,000.00), and Resolution 1355-24 authorizing submission of a $34,750 grant application to the Commonwealth Financing Authority to fund demolition work on Bleim Road and at the Pruss Hill Dam.
The Commonwealth Financing Authority grant, Mr. Wagner said, would be used to remove two unsafe barns; Commissioner Keohane said removing the barn on Bleim Road is a first step toward plans for building Pleasantview Park. All motions were seconded and carried 4-0.
