Fenton board agrees to draft banning smoking and vaping on all town property; public hearing set for July

The board agreed to the second of two draft proposals reviewed during the meeting; Town Attorney Richard H. Miller, III will send the draft for Broome County 239 review. A public hearing on the proposed local law will be scheduled at the July work session.
The draft language cites the New York State Clean Indoor Air Act and defines smoking to include burning tobacco, cannabis and cannabinoid-hemp products. The board did not adopt the law at the meeting; it approved sending the draft for county review and scheduling the public hearing.
